Queen Mary University of London Joins SES

One of London’s largest institutions and a leader in scientific research, Queen Mary University of London joins SES in early 2017, joining other consortia members including King’s College London, The University of Southampton, University College London, The University of Oxford, and Imperial College London.

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), one of the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions, has recently joined the Science and Engineering South Consortium (SES). Part of the Russell International Excellence Group (of which all SES institutions are members), QMUL brings to SES a strategic commitment to the highest quality of research. A major centre for medical teaching and research, the university already undertakes collaborative projects with our institutions, including UCL Partners, the world’s largest academic health science centre. Based in London’s East End, QMUL adds a diversified presence to the consortium (which stretches from London to Oxford and Southampton) with its strengths in research growth complementing and enhancing our capabilities as a consortium.  Representing QMUL on the board of PVC’s is Prof. William J Spence (Vice-Principal for Research, Queen Mary University of London). Upon the successful joining of SES, Prof. Spence expressed that:

“We very much look forward to being a part of the consortium – fresh collaboration and sharing arrangements will offer significant new opportunities to us at QMUL and add to the existing range of joint work with our partners”
